@raecomm.bsky.social I am a bit torn on this @raecomm.bsky.social. To an extent I understand and even sympathize with Bochum’s argument. However, I don’t think the result should change. To be fair, I have a soft spot for Union, and maybe I would think differently if it was another club.

@portugoal.bsky.social Seems like the big 3 are currently struggling to generate momentum. As you’ve said seemed like a foregone conclusion when Amorim was in charge, but now all 3 seem to be riddled with imperfections. Like in some of the other leagues, is fatigue a factor in Liga NOS as well this season?

@colinmillar.bsky.social Not to be intentionally contrarian, but in a sense, doesn’t this also show that the league and its clubs are actually quite open-minded in comparison to the continent? While the Italian and Spanish leagues should be proud of their managers, is it not also true that they can at times be parochial?

@sebsb.bsky.social Fair enough, they were soft. Do you think the winter break might be a big differentiator for German sides considering the cramped calendar? Even if not necessarily in European competition, but maybe the bigger sides in the Bundesliga will be able to reset to go stronger from January onwards.

@sbienkowski.bsky.social I feel this is in a way, the essence of the side. Even when they had amazing attacking trident of Rebic, Jovic and Haller, this was their achilles heel. It’s kind of the paradox that makes them must watch most days.

@wasimparkar.bsky.social Fair. Maybe an oversimplification from me. I agree there are bigger issues. Maybe what I meant to say is that with a cramped calendar, there won’t be a get out of jail card for either side in the 2nd half of the season like there usually is.

@sbienkowski.bsky.social I agree. Even with Schick I can’t see it if I am being honest. Is it premature to say that Inzaghi’s Inter have had the best defensive structures in the Champions League for almost 3 seasons now? This is not to say they are a defensive team to be clear.

While I agree that proper windows are crucial isn’t the challenge for United that their rivals are now numerous, meaning there is almost no margin for error in these windows? Almost seems like some of the other clubs have to make similar mistakes for United to catch up.
